We can build a stronger local community by developing new initiatives to help our children do better in School, to help patients get quicker access to care, to make criminals think twice because of a high likelihood of being caught. I keep a close eye on how these local services are getting on.

Ireland is facing huge economic challenges. Mistakes by bankers, regulators and politicians are now severely hurting families and small and medium sized businesses. Fine Gael is taking bold and urgent corrective action to fix Ireland:

I currently serve as Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

I have been a member of Dublin City Council and work closely with our councilors in the city.

I was Minister for Enterprise and Employment during the last Rainbow Government at a time when success in the economy was built up.

I am passionate about the need for reform- to renew politics, to reinvent the economy, to transform the public services, to create a new social contract.
