The IDA has had a very good year with 13,000 new jobs created. Their CEO reported that students making CAO choices should consider areas such as technology, science, and engineering, where there will be future career opportunities. In the boom the number doing such courses fell significantly from a peak in 2002, and now 2,000 vacancies can’t be filled.
