Local Crime Levels Down by 20%:
Since 2008 crime levels have dropped in Dublin North Central by 20%, well ahead of the national trend. The number of crimes committed fell in 7 out of 14 categories (with no change in two others):
• Public order offences are down by two fifths
• Drug offences are down by almost two fifths
• Fraud is down by one fifth
• Weapon offences are down by nearly one fifth
National detection improved in only 6 out of 15 categories since 2008. Detection of robbery, theft and kidnapping all improved, while detection of fraud, public order and controlled drug offences fell.
